ONCE again as summer takes hold, the blowflies and maggots are breeding nicely in wheelie bins across the borough.
It still staggers me that our local council can find cash for any number of fripperies - and yet is so hard-up it cannot afford to have our bins emptied once a week, even in a heatwave.
It absolutely constitutes a health hazard to leave organic matter such as waste food etc sitting around in plastic bags, trapped inside a virtual oven (the wheelie bin) for two weeks in temperatures of 28 degrees centigrade. Utter madness.
