I AM a Tranmere Rovers fan living on the outskirts of Manchester I have always been immensely proud to be associated with my home town team, never more so than this week.

Can the people of Wirral and, indeed, Wirral Globe readers please if you haven't already get behind your team, yes your team that is doing Wirral proud in the next week or so.

My heart swells with pride whenever Tranmere Rovers name is mentioned and believe me yours, your children, your grandchildren will all feel the same way once this great club gets a grip on you.

Come on guys join the ride – get down to Prenton Park, the real theatre of dreams as I tell all the Man Utd fans around here.
