AS Conservative councillors we have requested an urgent council meeting after the leader of the council appeared to go back on his promise to protect Wirral's Green Belt.
At the time of the housing White Paper the leader responded via the media stating that he would not accept development on Green Belt, should that ever arise.
Yet, within a week at a council meeting on March 6, Cllr Davies stated he would support some development on Green Belt.
I'm not sure whether the leader of the council changed his mind or given a commitment he couldn’t keep but either way, we need absolute clarity on what this council's policy is and to ensure potential developers know what is, and what isn't acceptable.
We have now requested a special council meeting to be considered by the mayor.
Cllr Chris Blakeley, Moreton and Saughall Massie
