OUR recent experience with secondary school choices left me perplexed.

As the process depicts three choices are allowed, the choices we made reflected our child’s educational and extra curriculum needs.

Our child was not offered any of her three choices and instead given a place in a school not of our child’s or ourselves choosing.

We live in CH63 area which recently was considered a desirable area.

However when it comes to secondary school selection we have one choice which has its specialisms but cannot be expected to suit all students' needs.

"One size fits all" should not be applied to education.

The long appeal process now begins.

Generally families choose their area to live and raise a family in relation to travel, amenities and schools.

This lack of secondary choice will not bode well in the future if this is the outcome of choices.
