I HAVE recently written to the Department of Works and Pensions consultation, urging DWP not to close Hoylake Job Centre.

At present, the centre can be accessed by most Hoylake and Meols residents by walking, avoiding the need to drive or use costly public transport.

If it closes, having to travel to Upton or Birkenhead would incur significant extra costs for these folk, already on low incomes and suffering the indignity of unemployment.
