A TEAM of Taekwondo students from Wirral will have a chance to prove themselves against the world's best during a competition in Birmingham this weekend.
The group of 80, from Richard Saunders Schools of Taekwondo, has been preparing hard for the World Taekwondo Championships, which will be staged at the city's National Indoor Arena on Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17.
Members of all ages taking part in what will be a massive event with students from all over the world proving themselves to be the best.
Team coach Richard Sanders, a sixth dan, said: "We have trained hard for the past 12months and stepped it up for the past six.
"We have an exceptional standard on the Wirral and have proved that in the past winning many National, European and world Titles along the way, our team have had some of the best coaching and we have in involved a sports physiologist to help them.
"I am sure we will once again prove that Taekwondo on the Wirral has some of the best in the world.
"I would also like to thank Top Gear Tyres of Ellesmere Port who have kindley sponsored the Team with tracksuits"
