A TALENTED Wirral runner was one of 287 youngsters to tackle the London Mini Marathon at the weekend.
Wallasey teenager Joe Wigfield finished Sunday’s race in 47th place.
It was the second time the 15-year-old St Anselm’s College pupil competed in the three mile race.
He is just one of many talented individuals coached at endurance, track and cross country at Wirral Athletics Club.
His coach Graham Patterson told the Globe he is extremely proud of not only Joe’s achievements, but those of the entire club.
He said: “This is his second time being selected as he ran two years ago as an under 15 finishing 56th and last year I had an under 13 girl from Birkenhead School, Krystina Martindale, chosen in the under13 girls team finishing 12th.”
