MARTIN Whittingham-Jones sailing Isador lifted the recent Falcon Class Championship staged on the River Mersey off New Brighton.

He did not win any of the races but counted three second places and two thirds to have a three points advantage over John Burthem in Hawk.

Third overall was Peter Price in Harrier. The leaders all represented West Kirby Sailing Club.

Two Fiddlers Ferry Sailing Club craft took part and the overall outcome might have been different had not Tomahawk been listed as over the line at one of the starts.

Eazi Tiger owned by Adam Kyffin headed the IRC Class One fleet in the latest Early Autumn Series races staged by Liverpool Yacht Club / Tranmere Sailing Club on the Mersey.

Andy Bracken in Joy Rider was second with Diva (Brian Chidwell) third.

Class Two was taken by Di Rich, jointly owned by Tim Hare and Paul Pratt. Stuart Lofthouse in Skukusa was runner-up and David Hughes in Legless Again third.

Tidal racing will continue on the Mersey throughout the winter months but West Kirby and Hoylake end their main tidal programme for the season this coming weekend.
