SAILING: Big turn-out for River Mersey race

THERE was a seventeen-strong turn out for the latest Late Autumn series River Mersey races staged by Liverpool Yacht Club/Tranmere Sailing Club on Sunday.
In a very tight finish on corrected times Eazi Tiger owned by Jon Oliver just pipped Mighty Max (Neil Thomas) in Class One with Another Nods (Richard Booth) third.
Class Two was claimed by Skukusa owned by Stuart Lofthouse. Quattro in the hands of Steve Harrison was runner up with Clarevouyant (Warwick Telfer) third.
In the Venture Series on Saturday Spring Onion (Simon Windle) headed Class A in a two yacht race. Neither of the two starters in Class B completed the course.
The next Mersey racing covers three days from Friday December 28.
