DESPITE a poor season weather-wise, Royal Mersey Yacht Club was able to complete plenty of Etchell and Mylne class races on the River Mersey.
Invader owned by Trevor Tansey and James Wright, Pointless (Ray Huntington, Graham Knights and Geoff Sheen) and Disco Volante (John Collingwood, Graham Ellis and Ric Johnson) shared the evening series prizes for the Etchells with the overall evening series award and the Williams Cup going to Disco Volante.
Invader took two of the three weekend series and the Mersey Ferries Bell for the overall weekend prize. The other weekend series winner was Disco Volante.
Merle owned by Max Cooke claimed four of the five series for the Mylnes with the fifth success going to Merk (Ron Hampton, Eric McDonough and Richard Rycroft).
Liverpool Yacht Club/Tranmere Sailing Club resume Late Autumn series races on the Mersey this weekend after a one week break due to unsuitable tides. Racing is set to begin in the late morning.
West Kirby continue with their Frostbite Dinghy Series races on the Marine Lake on Sunday (1.30pm).
