TRANMERE Rovers took themselves seven points clear of the relegation zone after beating Preston North End 2-1 at Prenton Park last night.
Andy Robinson and Enoch Showunmi earned Ronnie Moore's squad their second victory of the year in front of 4,612 spectators.
It stretched their unbeaten home run to eight games.
Ronnie said: "I think we were fantastic from start to finish. We went a goal down to sloppy defending but showed a lot of spirit, a lot of desire and some quality football at times.
"But we're not getting carried away with it, there's still a big job to be done. Nothing has happened and we're not safe.
"We need that 50 points, that's the first target and the sooner we get there we'll have a look over our shoulder and see where we are."
Rovers are in League One action against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
