TRANMERE Rovers face Maidstone in the final league game of the season this weekend.

With second place secured and the promotion play-off on Wednesday, manager Micky Mellon will be making changes to ensure his side are ready for the play-offs.

Hosts, Maidstone, are 11th on the table.

Looking ahead to tomorrow's game, which starts at 12.15pm, Rovers manager Micky Mellon said: "I don't think it will have any bearing at all on what we do on Wednesday.

"I think that would be fair to say and I think it's important to say that because people will want to travel down to the game but we will make a lot of changes.

"We will look at the game and in fairness I think we will look at making sure we give ourselves the best opportunity of having everybody available for the Wednesday game".

Mellon will be without long-term absentees Ben Tollitt, Jake Kirby, Jay Harris and Darren Stephenson.

Lee Vaughan is also out of action with a broken leg, Ritchie Sutton has an Achilles injury while Steven Jennings is still suffering with a knee injury which has kept him out for a few weeks.

Mellon continued: "There are a number of players who will get an opportunity to come and play.

"We'll go down there with Wednesday in mind and giving ourselves the best possible chance of having the players we want to play in that available".
