TRANMERE Rovers' away game against Woking - postponed last weekend because of a frozen pitch - has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.

Taking place at the Laithwaite Community Stadium it starts at 7.45pm.

Rovers, currently third on the table with 53 points have not played a league match since New Year's Day, when they were beaten 4-2 by Macclesfield Town.

Looking forward to what promises to be a tough game against 22nd on the table Woking during a press conference at Prenton Park on Thursday, Rovers' boss Micky Mellon said: "It seems like an long time since the last league game, but we're ready for it.

"Every game in this division has its different challenges and Woking will be the same; it will be a tough game.

"We'll be prepared for it and do what we have to do to get a result."

Assessing next Tuesday's opponents, he continued: "I saw Woking against Wrexham on DVD and they are a good team, who know the challenges ahead.

"We just have to concentrate on our game and be very very good.

"Woking is always a tough place to play and they will be charged up to play us as well.

"We have to meet the challenge of playing Woking head-on."

With 19 games left in the season, Mellon knows consistency is the key to success in the league.

He continued: "We don't lack confidence and it's important that we keep our standards very high.

"If you don't drive the standards very very high then mistakes will happen.

"In terms of how we play, nothing will change and we'll carry on regardless of who we play.

"We'll never be happy with any performance, and we'll always believe that we have to improve.

"I'd like us to be consistent over the 90 minutes, we will continue to strive for that perfect game.

"It's important to have a fully-fit squad.

"There's a group of players who are all first team players, but I can only ever pick 11.

“I trust them all to go out and do a job they are paid to do.”

A statement on Rovers' website says admission details are the same as for the original fixture.

If you have an official coach travel ticket for the original game, it is still valid.
