TRANMERE Rovers manager Gary Brabin says he is looking forward to a tough away game against Aldershot Town at the weekend.

Rovers go into Saturday's game at The EBB Stadium with six wins under their belts from seven matches at the start of the season.

The successful start to the season means Tranmere are top of the National League while Aldershot, who have won four, lost two and drawn one of their opening games, are fifth from top with 13 points.

Assessing this weekend's opponents during a press conference at Prenton Park, Brabin said: "Aldershot will be a tough side.

"They're an ex-league club with ambitions to get back into the league.

"We’ve got to match whatever the opposition throws at us and be better than that.

"We want to play to a winning formula and we need players who want to win that game.

"We've always believed that we are capable of winning every game."

Looking forward to this weekend's game, Rovers' defender Michael Ihiekwe, who signed a new contract at Prenton Park during the summer, said: "Aldershot have had good season so far.

"We had a tough game against them last season and we are going to have to be ready for them this time, definitely."
