TRANMERE Rovers pre-season preparations continued with a 3-3 draw against against League One side MK Dons last night.

Adam Mekki, James Norwood and Jake Kirby earned the goals for Gary Brabin's squad during the Athletic Union League match in Dublin.

Brabin said it was a good workout as he team build towards the start of the season on August 6.

He said: "We went at it straight from the off which you want in pre-season.

"From a fitness perspective, both teams look sharp and got what they needed out of the game.

"We scored three good goals, and, I know they were offside, but scored another couple as well, so from an attacking point of view it was good.

"There's still stuff that we are working on but you can't come away from the fact that this time is all about getting the players' fitness ready for the new season.

"But there were some really pleasing performances so all in all it has been a good exercise."
