TRANMERE Rovers' midfielder Steven Jennings has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
The 31-year-old, in his third spell at Prenton Park, was a key figure in Gary Brabin's squad last season, captaining the side and missing just five matches during the 2015-16 campaign, scoring two goals.
The new deal means he will stay at the club until the end of the 2016-17 season.
He said: "I'm really pleased to get the contract signed and done.
"We were unfortunate and missed out on the play-offs on the last day of the season.
"Come this year, we need to be doing what Cheltenham and Forest Green did last season."
Manager Gary Brabin said: "I am delighted that Steven has agreed to remain a Tranmere player for next season.
"He was an important player for us during 2015-16 and I believe he will have a big role to play for us going forward."
