TRANMERE Rovers' manager Gary Brabin says the players' confidence has never been stronger as they prepare for this weekend's away match against Aldershot FC.

During a press conference at the club, he said: "I don't the confidence ever went away.

"Since we came in at pre-season, there has been a confidence going into games, and certainly results help.

"Going into every game we work hard every day and hope we can get the right result."

Providing an update from the treatment room, Brabin said: "Everybody was out in the fresh air today which was good to see.

"Even the injured lads, despite not properly joining in with us, were running round which was pleasing.

"Matt Hill has been out running today but whether or not he'll be fit to play on Saturday is something we'll have to look at nearer the game."

Aldershot FC started life in the Isthmian League Division Three and worked their way back up into the Football League before relegation and administration struck in May 2013.

Assessing this weekend's opponents, Brabin said: "They're an ex-league club, and have only been in the league for a second season.

"They have won the last three games and are in a good bit of form at the moment.

"So we're going into a game against a team that are going to be raising their standards.

"But it's all about us. We need to maintain our current good form and carry that into the next game."
