TRANMERE Rovers manager Gary Brabin is confident his squad will return from FC Halifax Town with a win this weekend.

Rovers travel to The Shay on Saturday after two successive defeats but Brabin said the squad is training well and need to transform that onto the pitch on Saturday.

During a press conference at Prenton Park, Brabin said: "Our confidence has taken a knock but we have a strong group of characters, their heads aren't down Monday to Friday and they're working hard to put things right.

"Hopefully, come Saturday, we can regain our confidence and get back to what we do best.

"We have to remind ourselves that we are a good team, we've got good players and we've got to get back to basics and keep doing the things that we have been doing well and I'm confident that we'll start winning more games."

Assessing this weekend's opponents, Brabin said: "I think Halifax were in a false position at the start of the season.

"Neil Aspin recruited really well, there are some good players there and unfortunately he lost his job but they're starting to find some form and are on a bit of a run at the moment.

"We've had some players coming back into training this week following injuries and I think that has given the rest of the lads a little bit of a lift.

"We'll see a little bit more tomorrow but it's looking more positive certainly on the injury front."
