MICKY Adams was delighted to see his side come from behind to defeat Bury 2-1 at the JD Stadium on Tuesday night, taking Tranmere's unbeaten spell to five games.

Goals from Max Power and Danny Johnson earned Tranmere the win after Nathan Cameron had put the Shakers ahead.

The manager told Tranmere Player: "Once again we showed real character and worked ever so hard for each other. We played some decent football at time and had a bit of luck as well.

"I thought we were frustrating Bury and looking to counter attack, but got into the final third on three or four occasions and didn't really produce anything. It was a bit of a shock to go behind, but what a response. It was the perfect way to go in at half time.

"We pressed them a little bit higher up the pitch and when we did that tonight we looked quite dangerous.

"Their movement is good and you've got to remember they're one of the top sides in the division. If you chase the ball you can easily be picked apart. I said to them at half time to stay man for man, win your individual battles and don't follow the ball. That's the hard thing about my team, there's a lot of young lads in there who want to chase the ball instead of keeping their shape. But we frustrated them and had a couple of breakaways towards the end.

"If we get carried away with ourselves we'll come down to earth with a bang. We're on a nice unbeaten run but the unfortunate thing is we've won our last two games and they've both been cup games. Would I swap them for six points, yes I would.

"We'll enjoy it but we know we've got a really tough game coming up on Saturday against the league leaders Luton. If we show the same effort and desire we showed tonight and work for each other, that will take us a long way."
