TRANMERE Rovers' boss Rob Edwards says he expects the squad to play attractive football when their League Two campaign kicks off on Saturday.

Rovers start the campaign at home to York City and Edwards is looking forward to his first game in charge.

He told the club's website: "I've really enjoyed the pre-season and I'm looking forward to Saturday.

"It's a new start for myself and a new start for the Club. The players have been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks and I can see they want to get started.

"Hopefully we can all look forward together and try to play in a certain way that develops our own players.

"We've got a lot of football early on with four games in the opening two weeks so there are a lot of games for everyone to look forward to.

"We'll try to play in an entertaining way, we're going to have to play as much football as we can and be different. We've got footballers who want to get the ball into their feet, turn and run at defenders."

Meanwhile, Edwards says Gerardo Bruna is still training with the Club, but Ibou Touray's trial has ended.

He added: "Gerardo got injured after he played against Bolton when we were quite close to offering him something short term.

"He's back training and hopefully we can get something short term sorted. The boy has got huge quality and we want to give him a chance to prove himself but it won't be a longer contract as he has had a couple of injury problems.

"That might be no good for Bruna, but hopefully he'll take it, keep himself fit, show what he can do and be a really good acquisition to the squad."
