TRANMERE Rovers midfielder Jake Kirby has signed a new two and a half year contract with the club.
The 18-year old made his Prenton Park debut in the final game of last season and has made a further six appearances in 2012-13.
He is the second player this week to sign a new contract with the club. Fellow first year professional Cole Stockton also secured his future at Prenton Park on Tuesday.
Manager Ronnie Moore said: "I'm delighted to keep Jake at the Club for another two seasons.
"He has been really unfortunate not to be involved more this season because of the form of other players, but I really believe he has a big future at Tranmere.
"He's bright and enthusiastic, wants to learn and if he keeps up his hard work in training hopefully it will pay off."
Jake said: "I'm really pleased to have signed the new contract.
"I've loved being involved with the first team squad this season and I want to push on over the next couple of seasons and earn a regular place in the team."
Rovers, top of the table with 56 points, are in League One action against Carlisle at Prenton Park on Saturday, 3pm.
