Fan power is key to Rovers' success, says Moore

RONNIE Moore believes fan power is the key to strengthening his Tranmere Rovers squad as he prepares for next season.

Rovers were beaten 4-2 by Colchester in their final away game of the League One season at the Weston Community Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Manager Moore, who signed a new one-year contract last weekend, wants fans to show their support for the club by purchasing season tickets for 2012-13. The club has frozen ticket prices and deadline for best offers is this Friday, May 4.

Ronnie said: "The fans have been fantastic, but we want to sell more season tickets because we can bring in new players.

"They will have seen from the Colcehster game that we've got a half decent side that we can only build on for next season.

"We have been good at home, so we want to get as many fans as we can through the gate.

"The more we can get in, it means we'll be able to make the team better. I want to see Prenton Park busy again. I want to see big crowds here.

"The atmosphere has been brilliant inside the ground since I've been back at the Club and the fans have been fantastic."

Reflecting on their defeat by Colchester, Ronnie said: "To be honest, and it sounds a bit crackers, I wasn't disappointed with the standard of attacking play that we, but certainly with the defensive part of the game we were disappointing.

"We conceded a goal after three minutes and I hadn't even come out of the dressing room by the time the second was scored.

"We were 2-0 down and only minutes before we'd been speaking in the dressing room about keeping it tight.

"But we had a lot of chances, a lot of attacking and balls flying around. I was pleased with that part."

Currently 13th on the League table, they end the season against Scunthorpe at Prenton Park this Saturday, May 5, at 3pm.
