RONNIE Moore is hoping striker son Ian can do his dad a favour' when the Tranmere manager takes his team to his former club Oldham Athletic for Saturday's important Coca-Cola League One clash (kick-off 3pm).
The Prenton Park boss, who was in charge at Boundary Park prior to taking over the managerial reins at Prenton Park, believes he is in for a fiery reception from some sections of the home supporters.
Extra spice is likely to be added if 10th-placed Oldham won their home game last night (Tuesday) against Hartlepool United.
Said Ronnie Moore: "It's going to be a tough game for us - they had a massive result at the weekend and if they won last night they will be just two points behind us . . . we must go to win."
Moore, with a glint in his eye, added: "It won't be pretty from the locals - I don't know why because we did well for them when I was in charge . . . I might take a set of ear plugs on Saturday! I wish I was playing because then I could hurt them where it matters . . . by scoring.
"I think Ian will be looking to do his dad a favour!"

Moore came in for some stick' when he took Rovers to Boundary Park last season and he is prepared for more of the same on Saturday.
"We lost last year's game to a goal in the 93rd minute - we owe them!" he rued
The Tranmere manager is mystified as to why he is attracting hostility from some of the Oldham followers.

"They should really be thankful," said Moore. "We kept them in the first division and I appointed John Sheridan, now the Oldham manager, to the coaching staff and he's doing very well."
Saturday's solitary goal defeat at home to third-placed Doncaster Rovers brought Tranmere's unbeaten run of nine games to an abrupt end, but Moore insists that Tranmere are in control of their own promotion destiny.
"It's in our own hands," he said.
Despite that defeat by Doncaster, Tranmere are still in a strong position, occupying sixth spot in the table and on course for the end-of-season promotion play-offs.
On Tuesday, Rovers face another tough hurdle when they travel to South Wales to take on runaway leaders Swansea City (kick-off 7.45pm).
But the Prenton Park boss believes Oldham and Swansea are winnable games and he is looking to gain a positive result from both visits. "We know what we have to do," he said.
With Steve Jennings still out of contention because of a three match suspension, the manager's only worries are Chris Greenace (leg strain) and Calvin Zola (tight calf), but he expects both to be fit for the trip to Oldham.

When Ronnie was manager at Oldham, he never refered to the the team or club as "us".It was always "the team" or "the players" never "we".He never showedan closeness to the club or fans. Also he was tactically clueless and delivered crap football.Tranmoore can keep him.
