SPECTACULAR: Striker Ian Moore, making his home debut after re-joining Tranmere from Hartlepool United for an undisclosed fee, almost secured three points with this acrobatic overhead kick which brought a good save from the Leyton Orient goalkeeper.
TRANMERE Rovers aim to keep their Coca-Cola League One promotion dream alive with two crucial games this week.
Prenton Park boss Ronnie Moore was hoping to wake up in celebratory mood this morning after his squad - currently sixth in the table - made the ardous round trip to the south coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion last night (Tuesday).
Rovers are back in action at Prenton Park on Saturday, hoping to complete the double over relegation-threatened Millwall - a club Moore's side beat 1-0 in London in January. A week later (Saturday, February 23) Tranmere take to the road again to meet Bristol Rovers.
Victory in those three games could propel Rovers further up the table and would certainly consolidate their promotion challenge. But it can all so easily misfire, as Rovers found to their cost on Saturday, when they conceded a last-minute goal in the 1-1 draw with promotion rivals Leyton Orient at Prenton Park.
The loss of two vital points left an unsavoury taste in Moore's mouth, but he refuses to be downhearted, despite being denied a fifth straight home victory in front of 6,530 fans.
Tranmere had taken the lead with just 82 seconds on the clock, Shane Sherriff heading down a cross from the right for Calvin Zola to turn and fire home from eight yards to claim his third goal in four games.

Said Moore: "We're frustrated because it feels like a defeat. I couldn't see them scoring and it was going to be down to something daft that we did - and that's what happened.
"But you've got to stay positive. We're having a good run - we're unbeaten in five games after four wins and a draw and we've played really well in those five games. The lads recognise that the Leyton Orient goal was an awful one to concede, but we can't do anything about that. Things are looking better and people are in a positive frame of mind - we just need to get on with the job.
Moore was delighted with the support from the terraces.
"The crowd today were brilliant," he said. "We've got Millwall on Saturday and we need more of the same . . ."
