CELEBRATION: Calvin Zola, left, is congratulated by Shane Sheriff after scoring Rovers' opening goal
PROMOTION-chasing Tranmere Rovers face perhaps their most important match of the season on Saturday when they cross the Pennines to take on mighty Leeds United at Elland Road (kick-off 3pm).
Rovers' boss Ronnie Moore was hoping to wake up this morning to see his side within touching distance of a top six placing which would see the Birkenhead club feature in the end-of-season play-offs for a place in The Championship.
Tranmere were last night (Tuesday) hoping to round off a successful week with victory over Gillingham - a victory which, coupled with results elsewhere, could see Rovers just one point off the top six.
Rovers - at the time of going to press they occupied eighth spot in the table, just four points short of the top six - can do their promotion aspirations a power of good by returning from Leeds with a result.
Moore believes promotion is well within Tranmere's grasp.
"If we get the goals on Saturday, we won't be a million miles away from the top six," he said. "We need a good solid performance."

Rovers expect to have some 1,100 fans at Elland Road. Ten supporters' coaches will be making the trip.
Rovers put their FA Cup exit behind them with a 2-1 victory over promotion rivals Yeovil Town at Prenton Park on Saturday, Calvin Zola and Jennison Myrie-Williams netting the goals.
Moore was hoping for more of the same on Tuesday night when his squad played host to Gillingham.
The January transfer window closes tomorrow (Thursday) and Moore is still hopeful of signing players to bolster the squad's bid for a play-off place.
"We're still knocking on other clubs' doors - there's been a lot of interest in one or two of our players," said Moore. "We've been looking for the last two or three weeks, but we're not just going to swap good players for people who aren't very good."
Rovers have extended Myrie-Williams's loan deal from Bristol City until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has made 13 appearances since joining Tranmere in November, featuring on both the left and right wings."
