It was celebration time for Wirral on Monday when they lifted the Cheshire Vase with an excellent 20-10 success over higher rated Chester at New Brighton.
The Clatterbridge side always looked the more committed outfit against opponents from two levels above them.
They built up a 10-0 interval lead and although Chester hit back later never really looked like losing.
Alistair Baker and Craig Harvey scored tries for Wirral.
Harvey added both conversions and a drop goal whilst there was a penalty through Dan Harvey.
Chester scored two unconverted tries in the second period.
