IT was with great sadness New Brighton Rugby Club report the sudden and unexpected passing of former player Stephen Guy.
Steve made many appearances for the Blues first team over the years at prop forward and completed his playing career in the lower sides.
He was also involved in the squash section before work commitments took him to Burton on Trent.
He maintained his tremendous support for the Wirral club and was an ever present at their past players re-Unions.
On one occasion when the first team was travelling away the coach driver suffered a heart attack and Steve became the hero as he leapt to the controls and steered the vehicle to safety.
Steve was only 50. His funeral service will take place at Landican at 12 noon on Friday, August 8. Afterwards at Hartsfield.
