THE 70th annual Caldy Sevens Tournament was staged on Sunday with a dozen or so teams taking part.
Stockport lifted the Okell Shield, beating an Ellesmere VII in the final.
The Plate went to Hoylake who were too strong for Wirral in the last stage.
Lancashire won the Bill Beaumont Trophy for the County Championship, beating Cornwall 35-26 in the final at Twickenham.
It left Cheshire somewhat deflated. They beat Lancashire in their final game in Division One North but were edged out of the final because Lancashire picked up a crucial bonus point.
Had they won through they could easily themselves have become county champions for 2013.
