AT last the Wallasey Sunday League season has come to an end with all the titles and cups won after a long and eventful campaign.
The remaining cup final - for the Magee Cup - was fought out at Poulton Vics FC and resulted in a great game of fast, flowing football that ended in a 6-1 success for The Tower.
They lifted the cup by seeing off a gallant challenge of The Office, who certainly played better than in the Premier Cup Final and had Tom Murray as their man-of-the-match, but a solitary goal was scant reward for their efforts.
Showing the way was Tower's Dave Rudge, who notched two great goals.
Excellent goals from Mike Pickles, Paul Murray, Max Blood, and a 40-yard screamer from Craig Griffiths added to the tally as Tower finished the game in confident fashion to collect their second trophy of the season.
In Division Two, Young Lions overcame Leasowe Alliance 3-1, Harry Anson grabbing a superb hat-trick to put them into the top five placings.
FC Victoria ended in the top six after their 6-3 victory over Stanleys Cask, thanks to an Elvis Zinyama double and singles from Jamie Batton, Daren White and ever-green stalwart Brian Smedley.
The Friday night Division One Cup Final saw Oyster Catcher claim their fifth piece of silverware with a hard-fought 1-0 win over battling Pilot Boat, Paul Howell netting the winner in the 94th minute.
The Wallasey Sunday League's annual meeting takes place on Thursday, June 5 at Bronze Social Club (7.40pm).
