NEW Brighton Reserves saw their name etched on the West Cheshire Bowl plinth band after they eclipsed Grange Athletic 3-1 in an entertaining final at Poulton Vics.
It was a fitting reward for the seasiders, whose club have made significant progress in recent seasons. The first team finished in a respectable fifth place in Division One, while the reserves won more than they lost in Division Two, and a seventh place finish painted a true reflection of their consistency.
In Friday's final, two-goal Lee Dermody took the plaudits and a further effort from Paul Howells curtailed the Ellesmere Port side's interests.

Thursday's Youth Division Plate Final saw Cammell Laird complete their season with silverware, after goals from Mike Purmnell, Kieran Delaney and Phil Haywood secured a 3-1 extra-time victory over newly crowned Youth Division champions Jacobs. Adam Leadbetter bagged Jacobs' consolation.
As another West Cheshire season drew to its conclusion, several clubs completed their programmes in style. New Brighton's 8-0 rout of Blacon YC in Division One featured hat-tricks from Alan Bull and Mike Burke.
In Division Two, Matty Venables struck three times for Grange Athletic in a 3-2 midweek success at relegated Christleton Reserves and Owen Davies followed suit, with three in FC Pensby's gritty 3-1 triumph at Ellesmere Port Reserves.
After having lost in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup Final, Cammell Laird Reserves salvaged a little lost pride by beating Christleton 4-1, to finish a single point behind Division One champions West Kirby. Timmy Bigland, 2, Mike Shutt and
Eddie Jebb found the net for the winners, with Paul Hollifield replying for the visitors.
Despite goals from Jamie Hannah and Lee Kissock, Newton capitulated 3-2 at home on Wednesday to Castrol Social, but bounced back on Saturday with a 4-3 decision over local rivals Heswall. A double from Lee Harvey was supplemented by further efforts from John Cassidy and player-manager Brendan Helm.
Paul Pearson's hat-trick anchored Marine Reserves to a 4-2 win against relegated Ashville, while Kyle Hamood, Joe Davies and Craig Dewhurst hit the target in Runcorn Town's 3-1 win at Upton AA.
Halton will be playing Division One foootball next season - they signed off with a 3-1 win at Heswall Reserves, courtesy of a goal apiece from Dean Bond, Steve Horrocks and John McDonald.
Richmond Raith Rovers top scored in Division Three. Goals by Paul Goothwaite, Dominic Gilchrist, Dave Allen, John Thompson, John Garner and an own goal set up a 6-1 blitz of St Werburgh's.
Champions Mossley Hill Athletic scored through brothers Kevin, 2, and Phil Frankland, but went down 4-3 at Chester side Blacon YC Reserves. Paul Joiner, 2, Jamie Barlow and Mike Henderson obliged for the hosts.
