Irish raider to Sail in

Wednesday, May 7th

TODAY sees the start of Chester's May meeting with the Chester Cup and the Cheshire Oaks the main attractions.

Barry Hills' Sugar Mint looks likely to go off favourite for the Cheshire Oaks at 2.15, but the two I like are the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Laughter and Aidan O'Brien's, Sail. Slight preference is for the latter on the grounds that her recent 2nd at Leopardstown will have sharpened her up for this afternoon's contest.

Selections

Chester: 2.15 Sail (nap) 2.45 Double Banded 4.00 Moonquake

Beverley: 2.30 Melachrist

Fakenham: 2.20 Rapscallion

Huntingdon: 5.25 Atomic Winner

Cheltenham: 6.10 You Do The Math
