Motormen prepare for derby
2:17pm Monday 8th October 2012 in Sport By Phil Jarvis
VAUXHALL Motors FC chairman Alan Bartlam says he is delighted with the way everything is coming together for the Chester FC game, which will take place at Rivacre Park later this month.
Following several recent committee meetings, final preparations are currently underway and the chairman was able to provide the information to fans looking to attend this attractive local derby on Tuesday, October 30, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
Bartlam said the club has arranged for a shuttle service to take supporters from Hooton Interchange to the ground and back again afterwards.
To park your car at Hooton costs 80p and the shuttle service is just £2 each. The shuttle will be operating from 6.05pm that evening and in all there are 12 trips planned into the ground before kick-off, with the last one leaving Hooton at 7.35pm.
Bartlam said: "We would encourage all supporters to get to the ground as early as possible to avoid congestion around the turnstiles.
"Please remember only those with car parking tickets will be allowed near the ground. And there will not be any parking allowed in the vicinity of the ground by order of the police. So please give very careful thought to your means of transport.”
This is an all-ticket match and there are no cash sales on the night. Season ticket holders can obtain their match ticket on the evening of Monday, October 15, and any training night thereafter, with the sale of general tickets available from 5pm on Saturday, October 20, after the home game against Oxford City.
Next up for ninth-placed Motors is an away trip to Histon this Saturday, October 13. Kick-off is at 3pm.
The Cambridgeshire side are currently 21st in the Blue Square Bet North league table.
