Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League round-up

ARMCHAIR Alliance made it three wins from three games, to lead Houlihan’s Birkenhead Sunday League Division Three.

Goals from Steve Abbott, Liam Farrall and Tony O’Connor sealing a 3-2 win over New Ferry Rangers (Liam Gouldson, Gary Williams). Matching them point for point are Allport Athletic, who beat FC Vaults (Dave Connor) 3-1 with two goals from Mike Ryan and one from Mike Williams.

Paul Wallace hit three, with singles from Tim Gilbert, Dave Hughes and Josh Hatton, as FC Ridger Athletic hit Woodward for six without reply.

Rangers Breaks gained their first points thanks to an Ian Holland goal in a 1-0 victory at Wirral Spartans. Doubles from Luke Wynne and Kelvin Phoenix gave Beechwood Falcons a point in a 4-4 draw at Shawcross.

Queens Park maintained their 100% start to the Premier Division campaign; goals from Chris Bowe, Lewis McNally, Terry Cotgrave and Robby Courtenay, were enough for a 4-2 success at Rock Ferry Social (Craig Cairns, Terry New). Upton Villa recovered from their narrow midweek defeat to Queens Park and beat Brow (David Lee, Shane Farley) 4-2 and a Chris Penketh hat-trick and a goal from Tom Jones helped Shore Villa to a 4-1 win at Argyll (Lloyd Ithell).

In Division One, Churchwood had a convincing 7-1 win at AFC Arrowe Park (Peter Rutter); Ben Holmes (2), Ben Kearney, Danny Amis, Christian Lewis, Jamie Duggan and Victor Thurgill, all registering.

Lions FC beat Birkenhead Youth B 3-0, with goals from Craig Parry, Darren James and Alan Maggi.

Division Two saw Farmers Arms Moreton beat AFC Claughton 3-0 thanks to two Steve Wilson goals and one from Jason Taylor.

Danny Blades struck a hat-trick as PSV Athletic beat FC Ellies (Tom Rowlands) 4-1; Adam Kieran saving a penalty for PSV in that game.

Liam Cairns hit the target twice and Adam Hellon once, as AFC Houlihans won 3-0 at Millcroft. In the Youth Division, Vauxhall Colts won 4-3 at Ashville Colts (Luke Street 2, Brendan Hodrien) and the points were shared in a 2-2 draw between Cammell Laird Youth (Mike McClean, Jack Challinor) and AC Hoylake JFC (Harry Sutton, Tom Jones).
