NEW kids on the block, Ashdale Ath made their bow in the Wirral Sunday League's Premier Division, and announced their arrival with a 5-2 victory over Tixall Prenton.
Goals from Matty Basolu and Dave Skillen proved scant reward for the visitors, who capitulated to strikes from James Fraser, Sean Harrison, James Halligan, Mukta Mohammed and Mike Walker.
Last season's Division One champions, Towers, were also quickly into their stride, and bagged their first points of the season, inspired by a sparkling double from Mike Vernon. Dan Fitzpatrick and Davie Favager were on the mark too in Sunday's 4-2 victory at Amazon Management.
Reigning Premier champs, Neston Nomads, served due notice on their rivals, when Rob Cottrell, Nick Jones, Dayo Akinlabi, Lee Cairns, Paul Ellison and Dean Jones hit the target in a 6-0 rout of Clarence.
Kent FC's livewire forward, Dean Judge, passed sentence on MSC Eastham, after he struck three times and helped his side to win 5-0 at the Riverside Ground.Wes Pitchford and Ben Boylan also made the score sheet for the winners.
Goals from Johnny Warren, Chris Maddocks and Pete Foster saw Riverside pick up a point after a 3-3 stalemate with Gallaghers in Division One.
Simon Austick (2) and Danny Nettleton netted for the visitors, but efforts from Kenny Sinnott and Dean Nudd failed to prevent Student Sixes from dipping 3-2 at home to replies from Ravenscroft's Robbie Ablewhite(2) and Anthony Lyons.
Newly-promoted Windmill breezed home 8-0 at Bronze, and it was plain sailing also for title rivals, Sheridans, who afforded little mercy to Astra Ath.
Sunday's 7-1 triumph witnessed efforts from Ben Percival(2)Eddie Hutchinson(2)Ben Evans, Carl Owens and Tommy Currie.
After missing out on promotion from Division Two on a number of occasions in recent years, Bromborough put down an early marker, and toasted the efforts of Warren Stoker, Andy Comber and Steve Brookes, who scored two goals each, as newcomers, Port Sunlight, were despatched 7-0.
Stuey Hardman scored two and Danny Graham also netted as Bebington emerged 3-2 victors from an entertaining contest with Lever Bushell.
Forum Ath.'s hot shot forward, Mike Dunn, had a field day, and plundered a hat trick as the Rock Ferry challengers turned a 5-5 draw with seven minutes remaining against Wirral Ath., into a 7-5 victory.
Andy Williams (2), Lloyd Winkle and Craig Allison also contributed, with Rob Manger(3) and Ben Winstanley (2) on target for the hosts.
At Ryecroft, Gladstone Ath. profited, after they won 2-0 against Champions Bar, and it was a good start to the campaign for Higher Bebington RBL, who chalked up a 4-1 result at Star Ozzies.
Aaron Doyle (2), Ryan Clayford and Donovan Collins were the Legion's scorers.
