WOODCHURCH managed to edge a nervy Cheshire Cup 4th round replay against fierce rivals Dock.

Alan Cairns fired home the all important winner in the 68th minute.

The Dock went for it in the final ten minutes but they just couldn't net that elusive equaliser.

Queen's Park breezed into round five of the Wirral Premier Cup thanks to an Andy Bolton inspired performance.

The combative striker netted a sublime hat-trick as he led his team to a 6-2 win over Oyster Catcher. Mike Burke, Lee Gibson and the impressive Terry Cotgrave were also on target.

All games in the Premier Division were victim to frozen pitches.

Division One saw Parkside return to action and that man Alan Bull was at it again as his double clinched a 2-1 win away at Oak Tree (Charlie Kearns).

New Ferry Wirral Hotel claimed another victory this time against a youthful Shaftsbury A. Jamie Smith fired the berries ahead with Ricky Davis scoring directly from a corner to equalise.

A Gary Squibb effort and further goals from Mike Jones and Ogillvie made sure of the 4-1 win.

Dave Rudge was again at the double as he led his Tower team to a 3-0 win over battling Willows. Mike Pickles grabbed the third.

The only game from Division Two to get the nod was Bebington Legion versus second placed Wellington.

Si Saunders unleashed a rocket to set the welly on their way.

Mike Ansaldo and then Mike Ballard quickly got the Legion ahead but soon after Dave Williams netted from 30-yards to equalise. Lewis McNally then had the away side ahead before Ansaldo grabbed his second for 3-3.

Five minutes into the second half Andy Birchall slotted the winner in this pulsating match in the snow.

A fantastic match between Neston Athletic and Punchbowl produced an amazing 14 goals.

Neston clinched the three points winning 8-6. Goals from Tom Broughton, Mike Davies, and Dan Taylor got them going. Doubles from Chris Higgins and Rob Marrs had Neston dreaming and there was still time for Dan Griffiths to net.

On the scoresheet for Punchbowl were Ivory (2), Jones, Kelly, an own goal and a Ryan rocket. Stuart 'the bomb' Thomas produced the goal of the day as his 40-yard drive meant Primrose Celtic could walk away with three points from their encounter with Shaftsbury C.

Dave McKeown notched another goal for Millcroft as Phil Bartholmew's men produced a gritty performance in a 3-0 away win at Pollards Inn. Sea Dog's home match with FC Vaults was abandoned at half-time as the weather would not let up and the pitch became unplayable.

Vauxhall Youth drove home eight against a sorry Ashville Colts who had Tom Woods in reply. Luke Jones continued his fine run of form with a great double and Liam Sumner eclipsed it with a hat-trick. Further goals from Owen Davies, Jamie Daniels and Daniel O’Looney completed a splendid day for the Motormen.

Birkenhead Boys put Shafts Youth to the sword at the Oval in a 6-1 win. Colin Fleckner was again finding the back of the net his triple alongside a Liam Layfield effort had the BB in control.

Further goals from Thompson and Ainscough polished off a great win for the Birkenhead lads.

Vauxhall Colts enjoyed a great 3-0 win away at Victoria Laird Colts. Ashville Youth brushed aside an eight man Irby outfit 11-1. The Villa are way out in front in their quest for the League title.
