THERE was only one CWFL League game with all other teams playing in County or District Cup competitions.
In the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division Franklyn's and Christleton Celtic locked horns and came away with a point a piece, Ben Gregory and Ed Behan the Celtic scorers.
CWFL teams faired well in the cups with St Saviours, Beehive, Higher Bebington Kelma, Capenhurst Villa Vets and Newton Athletic all going through.
CWFL Division One side St Saviours were impressive after dispatching West Cheshire Two side West Kirby Reserves 2-1 with goals from James Atkins and Luke Edwards while Beehive held their nerve to beat Kelma Vets 5-4 on penalties after their game was tied 4-4 after extra time.
Kelma first team had a better day, beating the undefeated Shaftesbury Youth 5-2 with goals from Ben Kierman (2), Kenny Mahon (2) and Mark Lawler.
Capenhurst Vill Vets also shone out defeating Neston Nomads Vets 5-4.
Newton were the days top scorers hitting ESSAR for 10 while Eastham Athletic move into round 2 with a 3-2 win over West Kirby Youth.
