NESTON Nomads Reserves will be joining Blacon Thistle in the quarter finals of the Northern Cup Competition after a Sean Lunt goal gave them a hard-fought victory over Wigan side Mitch FC.

They will now travel to Market Drayton on March 26 to play Market Drayton Tigers while Blacon Thistle will travel to Ashley & Tyldsley FC on April 9.

In the CDFA Challenge Cup round three, Lodge Bar had a convincing 3-0 victory away to Clubbies.

Franklyn's needed extra time to see off Chester Nomads III in their rearranged CWFL Roodee Web Designs Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy tie.

With the game locked at 3-3 Jack Ford and Dave Swain netted in extra time to add to goals from Mike Wilson (2) and Ian Harrison.

They will now go on to play Birkenhead in next week's round three clash.

Ashton will also go into next week's third round games and a tie away to Newton Athletic awaits them after making short work of Hoole Rangers.

They beat Hoole 5-0 with goals from Dean Rattcliffe (3), Jay Whitlow and Stew Clark.

Blacon Thistle will complete the third round games and have a tough home draw against in-form Deva Athletic.

Thistle had Joe Henry and Warren Roberts to thank for their 2-1 victory over Uberlube who had Graham Dodd on the scoresheet.

Lache FC remain top of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division after seeing off Ellesmere Port Town Reserves 5-1.

Leon Whitley led the scoring with three followed by Liam McGovern and Lee Chesworth.

Ellesmere Port FC move into second place after winning 3-2 away to Shaftesbury Youth.

Matty Earlam, Nicky Monaghan and Liam Davenport were their scorers with replies from Jacob Grattan and John McGra.

Shafts took some consolation from the game though as Ian McGra played in his first game for over a year since breaking his leg.

Birkenhead Town slip down into third place after only managing a draw at home to Deva Athletic.

It took a late Mike Parnell penalty for the town to cancel out a Darragh O Callaghan strike for Deva to earn them a point.

Higher Bebington Kelma are in fifth place after a 3-0 away win at Christleton Celtic, Mark Lawler, Ben Keirman and Levi Woolley their scorers.

Kelsall eased their relegation worries and are now three points clear after seeing off Whitby Athletic 4-2 thanks to strikes from Kyle Cartwright (2), Tom Peters and Scott Walker. Paddy Hamid and Corey Bevan replied for Whitby.

Only one game took place in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Division One.

Neston Town travelled to Whitby Athletic Reserves to record a 2-1 win. Nathan Brown hit the consolation for Whitby.

In the CWFL Link Up Division Two Woodchurch Athletic returned to winning ways, beating Ellesmere Port III 3-1 thanks to goals from Sean Cassidy (2) and Lee Bridge.

Lois Anderson hit the Port goal. In the reverse of last week's fixture Orange Athletic and New Ferry Rangers had a closer game.

Last week New Ferry ran out 9-2 winners but this week was tougher, winning by the odd goal in five.

Ashley Butcher and Tom Wilkinson were the Orange scorers with winners for New Ferry courtesy of Adam Bagley (2) and Lee Burns.
