YET another rain-affected league and cup programme saw many games postponed due to the wet weather but a hard-fought Premier division cup second round fixture between Liscard Bronze and Poulton Royal needed extra time and a penalty shoot-out to decide the winners, with the Royal edging home 4-3.

Goals in normal time came from Gary Baker for Bronze and Tom Carroll netted for Royal as they ended 1-1.

Windsor pushed Great Float S&S all the way and despite a Dean Chapman goal they were eliminated 2-1 thanks to late efforts from James Harris and Jamie Stark as Float gained a last four spot.

The overdue Division Two Cup second round game saw Lord Nelson ease past Poulton Vics in a 11-3 success that had both Jordan Griffiths and Ashley Robinson netting hat-tricks, Paul Williams a double and singles came from Lee Pickles, Jason Wilde and Anthony Daniels.

In the Youth Divisions Cup second round Upton Youth saw off the challenge of Heswall Juniors with a 3-2 victory as Ryan O'Connor (2) and Jon Turk found the net, with Tom Sinkinson and Ben Adams firing the responses in a good game.

AFC Liverpool’s hopes of reaching the final of the Wirral FA Junior Cup were dashed by Dell FC who beat them 5-0, but they provided a brave show against their much older opponents.

Primrose FC won the only game in the decimated division One programme when easing past the winning line versus Olympic Rangers in a 4-0 victory thanks to efforts from Karl Smith, Mike McNamara, Keiran Morton and Mark King, but they remain in the bottom two.
