ONE game in the Houlihan’s Birkenhead Sunday League Cheshire Sunday Cup third round saw Stanley’s Tower lose 1-4 at home to Rock Ferry Social.

James McClennan scored for Stanley’s, with Will Bulpin and Adam Lea grabbing two each for Rock Ferry.

The match of the day in the David Tacy Cup first round was Port Sunlight v Wirral Radio, with the teams sharing 14 goals in a 7-7 thriller. Adam Chwalko, Dan Fletcher, Ian Watkins, Ash McCoy (2) and Karl Williams (2) scored for Radio. Port Sunlight eventually won 5-4 on penalties.

A John Wainwright hat-trick, with further goals from Mike Bebb, Mike Davidson, Phil Quilliam and Callum Doyle, saw Woodlands win 7-0 against MSC Eastham.

FC Vaults lost 2 -3 at home against FC Greasby, Craig Mathieson, Richie Aspey scoring for Vaults, with Joe Unsworth, Owen Kelsey, James Pinkham getting the goals for Greasby.

New Ferry Town lost 1-2 against Farmers Arms Moreton, Andy Williams scoring for Town and Steven Donagey getting both Farmers goals.

In the Premier Division, Dock AFC won 5-0 at home to Lancelyn Glenavon.

Heygarth FC drew 1-1 with Shaftesbury A,Mark Scowen scoring for Heygarth and Tom Hodson converting a penalty for Shaftesbury.

Queens Park hit eight goals against Stirrup FC.

Bushell Athletic extended their lead at the top of Division One by beating PSV Athletic 3-1, Adam Corless, Neil Davies, Jay Williamson getting the goals for Bushell.

In Division Two, goals from Jamie Mearns and Vinny Otoole were enough to see Crown AFC win 2 -0 against New Ferry Rangers.

Ellesmere Port Athletic were beaten 4-5 at home by Swan FC, Steph Lewis, Michael Copper, Darren Garfield, Matty Fowler with the goals for Port and Mathew Oshea, Aaron Dillon, Phil Haywood, Jack Small and Jack Harrison all scoring for Swan.

Neston Nomads made it six out of six by beating Bierhaus 5-2.

On target for Nomads were Luke Blondel (3), John Lloyd and Dane Griffiths, while David McNamara got both Bierhaus goals.

In the top-of-the-table clash in Division Three, Arches FC lost their unbeaten run, going down 2-3 against second-placed Madisons. Danny Wilson got both Arches goals, with Ben Sherlock, Stu Jones and Ben Sudbury on target for Madisons.

There were goals from father and son Peter and Nathan McNulty for Rangers Breaks in their 2-1 win away to South Rangers Athletic.

Division Four AFC Rockvilla lost 1-6 against Western Victoria B, Rhys Varns scoring for Rockvilla and Lee Keenan (3), Perry Taylor, Kris Clarke and Thomas Farrimond getting Western’s goals.

Tyler Smith and Brad Thompson scored for Shaftesbury Youth in their 2-2 draw against FC Bronze, Alan Fowlie and Shaun Doherty scoring for Bronze.
