JFC Greasby's under 13 and 14 squads returned home from the ESF Festival of Football tournament in Pwllheli as champions of their respective age groups.

After a fun-filled weekend away on tour, both teams topped their league tables, making this ESF Championship a memorable one for the club.

Both teams were then presented with their well-earned trophies by former Liverpool midfielder, Dietmar Hamann.

By winning the tournament, JFC Greasby u13s and u14s automatically qualify for the ESF Finale, which takes place later this year at the University of Warwick Football Centre and no-doubt they will head there full of confidence after this superb performance in Pwhelli.

With more than 1100 boys and girls teams participating every year, the ESF Festival of Football is the biggest youth football festival in the UK.

Dietmar Hamann, who presented the team with their awards on the night, said: "To be crowned ESF Champions is a fantastic achievement. Both teams should be really proud of themselves.

"Well done to everyone involved with JFC Greasby!"

Ian Webster, from JFC Greasby, said: “We’ve had a fantastic time away on tour at the ESF Festival of Football at Haven.

"It's been a great experience for us all and one which I’m sure the lads will remember for years to come.

"We had a great time across the whole weekend and both teams put in some tremendous performances on the pitch.

"For the teams to meet Dietmar Hamann topped off a fantastic weekend. The boys are all set for Warwick in July and the ESF Finale!"
