KENT FC continued to force the pace in the race for the Wirral Sunday League's Division One crown after they got the better of arch rivals, Neston Nomads, in a close encounter at Jericho Lane.

Both sides had their chances to capitalise and although Nomads scored through Rob Marrs, it was the hosts who won the day, and increased their lead at the top to eight points, thanks to goals from Danny Finn and Scott Parkinson.

Nearest rivals, Riverside had to settle for a share of the spoils following a 0-0 stalemate with Telegraph and had goalkeeper Paul Johnson to thank, after his brilliant penalty save thwarted ace marksman, Kyle Williams on 89 minutes.

Grace Arms went level on points with Riverside, after they posted a 1-0 victory at Woodchurch Rovers. Daniel Ramsey's strike sealed the issue.

In Division One leaders Port Sunlight forfeited their 100% record after they fell foul of Wallasey Athletic and suffered a 4-0 defeat.

The game between Victoria Colts Snrs. and MSC Eastham saw goals aplenty as Vics found the net through Steve McGuiness (2) Gaz Dickinson, Grant Fowler and Joe Eavers and looked good for all three points after they went in at the break 5-1 up.

The visitors refused to throw in the towel however, and after Danny Wilson had bagged his second goal of the game, Chris Gear and Adam Selby weighed in with further goals and gave the hosts the jitters in a thrilling 5-4 finish.

Goals from Lee Moon, Paul Ricci and Gary Jones's first in three years proved decisive, as Bronze celebrated an odd goal in five result over Halfway House who consoled themselves with replies from Jake Maddocks and Chris Hughes.
