THE League resumed activities at the weekend, albeit seeing its fixture programme restricted to just three games, due to inclement weather conditions.

Newcomers Grace Villa made a welcome resumption to the new year, after they put paid to fellow new boys, Victoria Colts Seniors in the Pyke Sunday Cup first round.

Stu Jones struck twice and was joined on the score sheet by Steve Griffiths and Mark Roberts as the Ellesmere Port side posted a 4-1 result.

In the local derby between Riverside and Kent in Division One, Riverside felt they should have had all three points but settled for a point following a well contested 1-1 stalemate.

Gary Clarke netted for Carl Rice's charges with Jonathan Parkinson on the mark for Kent.

Alex Ramsey and Matty Baggers found the net for Star Ozzys in their clash with Port Sunlight in Division Two but it was the visitors who came up trumps after four-goal Marc Lawlor left his calling card in sparking a 6-2 victory. Further efforts from Andy Grimes and Mike Walker completed a job well done.
