DESPITE the cold weather taking its toll on the scheduled fixtures and causing the loss of cup ties, those that took place produced plenty of goals and saw changes in divisional positions.

The only game in division One saw Champions Bar move above the inactive AM Plant Hire and go top following their 10-goal thriller versus Rockpark FC, which they won 6-4.

Jamie Payne was the main goal getter as he claimed a treble, with Ashley Robinson, Adam Threllfall and Sam Hughes adding the extras against the hard working Rockpark team.

Premier division action resulted in Liscard Bronze overcoming main rivals Poulton Royal 2-0 to keep up their title assault, as Paul Howell and Carl Murphy fired the important goals to keep them second.

Windsor took the spoils against Black FC when easing home 6-3, with John Hesketh a three goal star and Sam Little a two goal hero and Anto Daniels completed the scoring. Bagging the replies were Peter Rutter-2 and Stuart Speed.

Only two of the division Two Cup 2nd round games were played but resulted in wins for Nelson Grove and Wallasey Oval.

Nelson needed extra time to defeat Poulton Vics 3-2 as Danny Murphy, Connor Eccles and Kieran McCabe grabbed the goals, with Sam Platt and Dean Naylor bagging the responses.

Wallasey Oval bowled over Wallasey Town in a 5-1 victory that saw Matty Hughes bag a hat-trick and Tom Ward and Callum Lockley added singles in a good team effort.

Derek Nash was a three goal marks man for Olympic Rangers as they ran out 3-1 winners over Cavendish FC in division Two and pumping blood into their title push were Grange Hearts who beat Sandbrook FC 4-2, with Stuart Toner-2, Alan White and Jack Bradley being on target to put them within three points of top spot.

No youth section fixtures took place as every club attended a meeting to discuss ways of preventing unsavoury incidents taking place and where necessary to report players and teams if they fail to adhere to league directives and the mandatory rules.

All clubs were reminded that it was their responsibility to control their players, committees and supporters at each and every fixture.

Some fixtures will be changed to accommodate postponed cup ties but teams will require the correct notification from the League Secretary.
