IN a game which saw no quarter given, Star Ozzys and Bronze gave their all in a battle for a place in the League's Pyke Cup second round.

Efforts from Owen Lane, Lee Moon and an own goal helped Bronze to a 3-3 draw, as the tie went into extra time.

The scoreline remained unaffected before Bronze held their nerve and went through 5-4 on penalties.

Also safely over the first round hurdle are Wallasey Athletic, who earned the nod after they eclipsed Port Sunlight 2-1. Marc Lawlor scored Sunlight's consolation.

Sunday's Premier Division saw long time leaders Neston Nomads, forfeit their 100% record in a superb game, dedicated to the memory of former Kent FC star, Kyle Farrell.

Nomads had Richie Foulkes and Dean Jones on the mark, but failed to capitalise further, after Foulkes failed from the penalty spot.

Inspired by a man-of-the-match performance by Colifa Kamara, it was Kent who took the honours and celebrated a 3-2 triumph, courtesy of a Kamara double and a further effort from speed merchant, Danny Morley.

Alan Sutton fired home from the spot for Woodchurch Rovers, but his effort proved in vain, as Riverside hit back through Gary Clarke, James Taylor and Lee Cannon in a 3-1 finish.

The improving Victoria Colts Seniors were left reeling after a five goal blast from Mike Vernon, supplemented by a further goal from Ben Fitzpatrick gave Telegraph a 6-0 interval advantage.

The second period told a different tale however, as Seniors' youngsters showed gritty determination and rallied through Steve McGuiness, Connor Westbury, Grant Fowler and Dean McCrudden before a late effort from Carl Hadden sparked Telegraph to a 7-4 decision.

The League's management committee would like to express seasonal greetings to the League's clubs, referees and followers and now take a two week break. Play will resume, weather permitting, on Sunday, January 4.
