KENT FC soon got their title challenge back on course, after they won 4-0 against Halfway House in the Wirral Sunday League's Premier Division last Thursday.

On Sunday, Kent continued their vein of form and carried the Wirral League's banner into the Wirral & District FA's Premier Cup second round, after they won 4-1 at Prenton Dell.

The Parkinson's again left their mark. Further efforts from English and Callum Allcock completed the scoreline.

Not to be outdone, current leaders, Neston Nomads, celebrated a 5-1 decision over Star Ozys in midweek, and then secured their passage into the Premier Cup second round, after they turned a 1-0 deficit against Millhouse into a 2-1 triumph.

After going behind to an own goal, player manager, Lee Cairns equalised before 18-year-old Jay Roberts headed a dramatic winner with eight minutes remaining.

Wallasey-based outfit, Telegraph, also went through to the second round, after Mike Vernon and Kyle Williams netted in Sunday's 2-1 eclipse of Lairds Sports Club.

A hat-trick from Laurence Whelan was supplemented by a Chris Gear double, as MSC Eastham finished 5-5 on Thursday against Wallsey Ath. John Berry followed suit with three for the visitors, who also contributed via Gary Eccles and Tom Carter.

Eastham registered another point at the weekend after Chris Gear struck twice in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Victoria Colts Seniors.

It was a week to forget for Sunlight who went down 3-2 at home to Grace Arms on Thursday. Steve Armitage, Ben Sudbury and Mark Roberts claimed the winners' goals.

A 4-0 success at Star Ozzys on Sunday saw Woodchurch Rovers record their first win of the season while fifth placed Wallasey Ath. Settled for a point after they finished 3-3 with Halfway House.
