TRANMERE Rovers’ League Two campaign continues with a game against Shrewsbury Town at Greenhouse Meadow on Saturday.

Kicking off at 3pm, it will be the 39th time the two clubs have met with Tranmere holding a 20 wins to 8 advantage.

Last season a goal from Andy Robinson gave Rovers a 1-0 win at Greenhous Meadow while Max Power and Junior Brown earned Tranmere a 2-1 victory at Prenton Park in April.

Rovers' biggest away win is the 3-1 victory in October 1973.

Manager Rob Edwards hopes to have Marcus Holness and Jake Kirby available for tomorrow’s game.

The pair missed the midweek game against Nottingham Forest but will have their fitness assessed in the build up to the match.

Liam Ridehalgh remains on the sidelines with an ankle injury while Liam Davies is also in the treatment room with a knee injury.

Tranmere go into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw against York City on the opening day of the season, while Shrewsbury also drew their opening fixture as two goals from James Collins helped them to a 2-2 draw against AFC Wimbeldon.

Shrews boss Micky Mellon has an injury concern over midfielder Mark Ellis after he picked up a knee problem, but the former Rovers player has no other injury concerns.

Ex-Tranmere trio Andy Robinson, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Jermaine Grandison could all be included in Mellon's squad.
