AN evenly-fought encounter between Sheridans FC and AM Plant Hire saw the latter claim the Dutchman Cup and take a trophy when capitalising on defensive mistakes for each of the goals in a 2-0 victory.

Both sides were competing in their third final of the season and the Diggers made it third time lucky as they notched a goal in each half.

Rob Burgwin fired home in the first-half and Kris Wu used his speed and height to seal the game in the second as the game started to take its toll on both sets of players.

Chances were created by both teams but defences were on top for much of the final with Kyle Lowe earning the man of the match award for Sheridan’s and Mark Roberts earned the same accolade for Plant Hire, with either team selecting the winner of the award.

The last cup final of the season sees a re-run of the Magee Cup when Great Float S&S take on rivals Millhouse in the Captiol Cup Final next Sunday, with the game being staged at Villa Park, the home of Ashville FC.

Kick-off is 11am and it is hoped a large crowd will help to bring the season to a close.
