HESWALL'S nightmare season was compounded on Saturday, despite a goal from veteran war horse Gordon Harrison.

They lost 3-1 at home to newly hailed Carlsberg West Cheshire League Division One champions, Maghull, and in the process, finished bottom of the table, after being crowned top dogs themselves twelve months previously.

Maghull's twenty fifth win of the season was confirmed by a goal apiece from Rob Dutton, Steve Williams and Mike Boyle.

A James Clare hat trick and a Ricci Neil double set Ashville up for a fine 5-3 triumph at South Liverpool.

Upton AA gave themselves a fighting chance of survival, after a goal from Henry Nicholson anchored them to a priceless 1-0 victory at West Kirby.

Elsewhere in Division One, four goal Billy New stole the show as Willaston eased their relegation fears, thanks to a 5-2 success at Mossley Hill Ath. Res. and it was celebration time for Manor Ath, who had Kevin Walker, Amdy Kingam and Terry New on target, in their 3-0 eclipse of Marshalls.

Jake Connelly, Ben Helme and Paul Leamy scored for Redgate Rovers in their 3-2 result over Bebington Ath.

Tom Byrne and Coby Kendrick-Hall obliged for the visitors. Mike Collins (2) and Paul Ellison netted for Neston Nomads in their 3-1 win at Upton AA Res.

Phil Quilliam and Damien McGinnigle were Capenhurst Villa Res.' marksmen in Saturday's 2-0 verdict over Bootle Res.
