SHAUN Tuck scored twice as the Motormen moved up to 14th in the Skrill North table with an emphatic victory at Rivacre Park.

Initially both teams struggled to deal with the blustery conditions however, on 16 minutes, Histon were unlucky not to take the lead as Nick Freeman tried his luck from 20 yards out which slipped out of the hands of Zac Jones and bobbled off the post to safety.

On 18 minutes, Motors took the lead when Tuck picked up the ball on the left and still with plenty to do but he cut inside full-back Zak Mills before drilling the ball in at the near post beyond the outstretched Calum Kitscha.

The home side doubled their advantage on 40 minutes when a Matty Williams through ball wasn't cut out by Omar Beckles which left Tuck through on goal and he made no mistake by slotting the ball past the onrushing keeper with ease.

After the interval, Motors continued to control the game and scored their third goal on 66 minutes.

A fine passing move involving one touch passing from Lloyd Ellams, Tuck and Paul Mullin eventually found Karl Clair who had made a run into the area and he blasted the ball into the roof of the net from ten yards out.

With five minutes remaining, Motors grabbed their fourth of the game when full-back Louis Barnes made a powerful forward run before playing a neat one-two with Danny Fearnehough then firing the ball past Kitscha into the far corner of the net.

After the game, Vauxhall manager Carl Macauley said: "That was a very important three points for us.

"I was pleased the lads have responded in the right way after our defeat last Tuesday and we played some really entertaining football in difficult conditions.

"Shaun Tuck has again showed why I’ve brought him to this club with two great finishes.

"As a team however, we have produced a disciplined performance where we worked hard when we didn't have the ball then looked comfortable when we were in possession.

"We now need to bring some consistency into our performances and hopefully we will then start moving up the table."
