Robbo returns for Rovers' League One clash with Gillingham
12:36pm Thursday 19th December 2013 in Sport
TRANMERE Rovers midfielder Andy Robinson returns to the squad for the first time in more than three months on Friday night when they take on Gillingham in League One action at Prenton Park.
The midfielder has been sidelined with a knee injury and had a hernia operation while out of action.
Rovers' manager told Ronnie Moore told the club's website Tranmere Player: "Robbo is looking sharp and bright. He'll be involved in some capacity and it will be nice to have him back.
"He's quality, he doesn't give the ball away and he sees the pass. When he's out of the side you miss him."
However, Moore is unsure if James Wallace will also be back in action.
The captain missed the game at Carlisle with a groin injury and has not yet resumed full training.
The manager added: "He's going to be very last minute. He'll do the warm up with us this morning and we'll see how it goes.
"If he's right he'll play but if he's not we won't take any chances."
Team mate Ryan Lowe said: "When he's back fit and training he's the bubbliest character around.
"It has been a tough few months for Robbo with the injury and the hernia operation but to have him in the team and in the changing room will be great.
"It will be nice to see him back in the squad because he gives you something a bit different.
"If someone's not doing it right he'll tell them, me included.
"He's always got something to say, whether it's helping you or constructive criticism.
"That's the way I am, it's the way James is and it's the way most of the lads are. If you want to win you win together and you accept those criticisms."
Tomorrow's match starts at 7.45pm.
